Competition Law

Competition law serves as a cornerstone of economic prosperity and a driver of consumer welfare. For decades, the active enforcement by competition authorities worldwide has made competition law into a legal field that no enterprise can afford to ignore in its business operations.

Lee, Tsai & Partners have successfully represented our clients in many landmark competition law cases. Our firm has extensive experience providing professional legal services to our clients on competition law issues ranging from concerted action, abuse of monopoly position, merger approvals, vertical restrictions (price-based or otherwise) to other unfair competition conduct issues. We have also successfully assisted our clients in resolving competition law matters that involve intellectual property rights, such as standard-essential patents (SEPs) and abuse of patent rights, as well as assisting competition law matters arising from other jurisdictions, such as responding to competition investigations by authorities in the U.S. and the EU.

Lee, Tsai & Partners' attorneys have been actively participated in Taiwan competition law communities, such as the Competition Committee of the Taipei Bar Association ("TBA"), the Competition Law Committee of the Taiwan Bar Association ("TWBA") and the Fair Trade and Consumer Relationship Committee of Chinese National Federation of Industries ("CNFI"), and regularly advocate competition policies through these channels with the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission.  Our partner Aaron Chen is the current chair of TBA's Competition Committee, Vice-Chair of TWBA's Competition Committee  and serves as a commissioner CNFI's Fair Trade Committee.
