[Article Publication] Our attorneys have contributed to the Law & Practice, Taiwan Chapter of the Employment 2023 Global Practice Guide by Chambers and Partners

September 11, 2023

We are delighted to share that our attorneys, Dr. Chung-Teh LEE, Elizabeth PAI, Ankwei CHEN, and Tina LEE, have contributed to the Taiwan Chapter of the 'Employment 2023' Global Practice Guide, published by Chambers and Partners.

Our legal team delves deep into various aspects of employment law in Taiwan and offers invaluable insights on employment terms that depend on the nature of the work arrangement, and the current rules on post-employment non-compete agreemeents and relevant independent consideration requirements. The Chapter then highlights the data privacy rules in the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and insights into the limitations and prerequisites for foreign workers. Given the surge in remote work arrangements, our team also addresses the changes to employment terms under the Labour Standards Act (LSA).

Furthermore, the Chapter sheds light on collective relations, such as the roles of unions and employee representative bodies. It also delineates the grounds for termination and dismissal while elucidating the specific protections in place against the dismissal of certain types of employees. Additionally, this guide enumerates specific situations that may lead to disputes and outlines the corresponding dispute resolution details.

To conclude, the Chapter covers a wide array of crucial employment law aspects, which we believe can provide comprehensive and up-to-date guidance for our clients and other interested parties.
