【Reflections from the Private Screening of Lee, Tsai & Partners】- A Chip Odyssey
We were proud to host a special screening and post-screening forum for “A Chip Odyssey,” a powerful documentary that chronicles the visionary journey of Taiwan’s semiconductor pioneers. The film serves as a timely reminder of the determination, strategy, and foresight that transformed Taiwan into a global technology leader against all odds.
* Producer Ben Chiang shared how the film, originally conceived as a documentary, evolved to reflect the significant real-world events that unfolded over five years of production. It not only captures history but also conveys a sense of continuity across generations. His message to the youth is clear: “When opportunity arises, be prepared.”
* Chairman Paul Wang highlighted how the K. T. Li Foundation for Development of Science and Technology commemorates Minister Li’s legacy annually through the Lee Kuo Ting Award and medical innovation forums, inspiring the next generation to appreciate his visionary contributions. His advice to young people is: “Be specialized, diversified, and global. Read more. See more. Broaden your vision.”
At Lee, Tsai & Partners, we believe that the stories we choose to tell and preserve shape not only our collective memory but also our shared future.
In an era when Taiwan stands at the epicenter of geopolitical and technological change, the importance of storytelling through documentary film becomes clear—not only as a means of cultural preservation but also as a form of civic engagement. These narratives offer younger generations the opportunity to understand the risks taken by their predecessors and to envision the new challenges we must overcome.
We were honored to welcome Mr. Ben Chiang, Producer of the film and the Founder of CNEX, along with another distinguished panelist, Mr. Paul Wang, Chairman of the K. T. Li Foundation for Development of Science and Technology, for a fruitful conversation with our Co-Founder, Jaclyn Tsai. They explored not only the process and narrative of the film but also how Taiwan’s legacy of innovation can be sustained through intergenerational dialogue, historical memory, and bold policymaking.
As a law firm deeply engaged in Taiwan's technology and innovation landscape, we are dedicated to supporting platforms that bridge legal, industrial, and cultural narratives.
