August 7, 2023

Jaclyn Tsai, our co-founder, was recently interviewed by the Mountain Jade Science & Technology Association (MJTaiwan), in which she shared profound insights into Taiwan's financial innovation advancements. She highlighted Web3's and AI's transformative impacts as the real world merges with the virtual, with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin at its core. Despite market capitalization fluctuations, global cryptocurrency adoption is surging, with over 420 million people holding cryptocurrencies worldwide by 2023.

Looking around the world, the BRICS countries are exploring joint issuance of digital currency to reduce reliance on the US dollar. The Islamic world is launching an Islamic digital currency, while major brands like Starbucks and GUCCI have adopted cryptocurrencies as payment methods.

Leading financial centers compete to become crypto hubs, establishing robust infrastructures for crypto adoption. Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) are emerging in response to cryptocurrencies, with China actively promoting its digital Yuan for international transactions.

Jaclyn stressed the importance of a crypto-friendly environment in Taiwan to encourage innovation without stifling it. She urged local companies to embrace a global perspective to navigate startup risks in the crypto landscape.

Highlighting MJTaiwan members' potential, Jaclyn encouraged cross-industry collaboration to spark innovation. She emphasized the need for a multi-faceted approach and wished for Taiwan to take a proactive stance in the virtual asset realm. Taiwan's strategic approach will determine its future trajectory as the world races for dominance in the virtual realm.
