Official Release of the Amendments to the Trademark Act of Taiwan in 2022

May 2022

Jane Tsai and Eddie Shih

The President officially promulgated the Amendments to the Trademark Act of Taiwan, which cleared through three legislative readings this year, via the Hua-Zhong-One-Jiang-11100037481 Directive of May 4, 2022 with the effective date to be set by the Executive Yuan.

The Amendments are the version proposed by the Executive Yuan to amend Articles 68, 70, and 95 through 97 to address the need to promote Taiwan's accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
