The Ministry of the Interior amended relevant requirements to increase the contract limit and authorized capital of a construction contractor (Taiwan)

The Ministry of the Interior amended the Enforcement Rules of the Construction Industry Law and the Rules for Determining the Reported Net Value of the Project Scale and Scope of Projects Subject to Value Limit and Contracted by the Construction Industry and the Total Contract Amount Over Specific Period and increased the project value limit based on the 10-Year Total Construction Project Price Index on September 22, 2018.

After these amendments which increase the value limit of projects which may be contracted and the authorized capital of relevant construction enterprises, the value limit of projects which may be contracted by the civil engineering contracting industry is adjusted from NT$6 million to NT$7.2 million with the authorized capital adjusted from NT$0.8 million to NT$1 million; the value limit of projects which may be contracted by Class C General construction contractors is adjusted from NT$22.5 million to NT$27 million with the authorized capital adjusted from NT$3 million to NT$3.6 million; the value limit of projects which may be contracted by Class B General construction contractors is adjusted from NT$75 million to NT$90 million with the authorized capital adjusted from NT$10 million to NT$12 million; and the value limit of projects which may be contracted by Class A General construction contractors and professional contractors is still maintained at 10 times their authorized capital with the scale of projects subject to no restriction.
