Official Release of the Amendments to the Copyright Act of Taiwan in 2022

The President officially promulgated the Amendments to the Copyright Act of Taiwan, which cleared through three legislative readings this year, via the Hua-Zhong-One-Jiang-11100037471 Directive of May 4, 2022 with the effective date to be set by the Executive Yuan.

The Amendments are the version proposed by the Executive Yuan to accommodate the gist of Judicial Interpretation No. 804 and the need to promote Taiwan’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) by deleting Article 98 and Article 98-1 and revising Articles 91, 91-1, 100, and 117 of the Copyright Act.
